  1. Mark, based on the people on the plinth I think we can say that Fidelma Healy Eames went with Kenny.

  2. I’m not sure there’s any clear pattern here as how candidates are chosen and elected are subject to some many other factors that are hard to control for.

    I don’t buy the ‘urban – rural split explanation’ thing because if we look at Mayo, it would seem an outlier in that analysis where in actual fact that has more to do with local loyalty than any assessment by individual candidates of their positions.
